An Explosion of Colour and Flavour at RHS Chelsea Flower Show

New Fine Dining Menus Launched for 2010 RHS Chelsea Flower Show

Amid the firework of colours and bite-sized gardens at the 2010 RHS Chelsea Flower Show, an explosion of flavour is awaiting guests in the  Official   Hospitality  Village  at the grounds of the show.  The yearly combination of champagne, canapés and fine dining, created by a team of award winning chefs and event designers from Sodexo Prestige, will be greeted with relish by those looking to do business in such inspirational surroundings as RHS Chelsea Flower Show.  Sodexo Prestige, the official hospitality partner for RHS Chelsea Flower Show, has launched their new  hospitality and  fine dining menus for 2010.

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2010 runs from 25th – 29th May 2010.   Guests  in the Hospitality Village will be welcomed with freshly brewed, fair-trade coffee, tea and herbal infusions accompanied by patisserie and business selections on arrival from 9am.   Champagne Laurent-Perrier, the Official Champagne of the show, will be served at a canapé reception before lunch.  Canapés include roulade of lemon sole and smoked salmon blini with caper crème fraiche, open mini chicken bagel, red pepper pesto and mixed capsicum on ficelle as well as duck liver parfait and apricot, soft brown bread.  

A four course luncheon is served with a selection of fine wines and coffee, port and brandy.  An amuse-bouche of smoked new season carrot bisque with parmesan and paprika twist is served.  A starter of warm soft herb, asparagus and Oxford Isis tart, shallot and white truffle dressing is followed by British farmed sea trout served with Hampshire water cress, spring onion  and new potato salad with confit cherry tomato dressing.   For dessert, guests are treated to passion fruit tart, bitter chocolate and orange sorbet served with sugared almonds and passion syrup.  The meal is finished with freshly brewed fair-trade coffee, tea and speciality teas and a selection of dark chocolate, strawberry and champagne truffles. 

Afternoon tea is served from 3.30pm and includes traditional finger sandwiches and a selection of tempting afternoon pastries and fancies such as lemon drizzle cake, chocolate delice and mini fruit scones with jam and cream.   The Chairman’s VIP All Day Package costs from £249. The Chairman’s VIP Champagne and Canapé Evening Package costs from £159 and also includes access to the show from 3.30pm and your hospitality facility from 7pm – 9.30pm with Laurent-Perrier Champagne and canapés served during the evening from 7pm – 9pm.

Laurent-Perrier at RHS Chelsea Flower Show

Champagne Laurent-Perrier is returning to Chelsea this year under the artistic direction of gardening guru Tom Stuart-Smith.  Laurent-Perrier is not only sponsoring one of the main attractions at the show – Laurent-Perrier gardens at Chelsea are renowned for their medal winning beauty – but Laurent-Perrier is also the Official Champagne of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, while Sodexo Prestige is the official hospitality provider.  The Laurent-Perrier team is central to to the show: on the Gala preview night alone 10,000 glasses of Laurent-Perrier Brut will be consumed, and approximately 2000 bottles are consumed  over the show.  In recent years there has been a growth in sales of champagne by the glass. Last year 5400 glasses of Laurent-Perrier Brut and 600 glasses of Laurent-Perrier Rosé were purchased.

Sodexo Prestige at RHS Chelsea Flower Show

Sodexo Prestige is the exclusive caterer for RHS Chelsea Flower Show and has been working with the show for over thirty years. Each year Sodexo Prestige raises the bar with regard to the style and quality of the food it provides and 2009 was no exception. The exclusive Charity Preview Gala Evening held on Monday 18th May 2009 saw Sodexo serve champagne and canapés to the Royal Party which included the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh as well as 5,000 assembled guests, including 1,200 dinners for the event’s top corporate clients.

As well as catering for the Charity Preview Gala Evening Sodexo’s 700 per day plus-strong team provided all of the public catering and the through the various outlets and restaurants located around the site throughout the week. 2009 saw an 19% increase in sales at its  Seafood restaurant and 33% increase at the Champagne Bar during the show. Throughout the course of the week the team served 18,000 sandwiches, 20,500 cakes and pastries, 716 beer battered haddock and chips as well as 46,500 glasses of Pimm’s and 32,789 cups of tea.
